Welcome to Spring mama! This is my family’s first Spring in Arizona and we have certainly been enjoying a long warm Spring! Back in Massachusetts, Spring can be quick—In May, the temps are just starting to warm/grass starting to turn green. But in AZ, Spring soccer and baseball are on their final weeks (before the 100 degree days roll in)! Wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying the warmer weather and longer days with your family. I’ve been putting together a Pinterest board for you, with some inspirational ideas to photograph your family this Spring. Below is the snippet of the board, but click on over to Pinterest to follow it, as I will continue to add ideas to inspire you to get out and capture your family’s memories!
Ring-Around-the-Rosy / Wildflowers + Overgrown Fields / Puddles (bonus for colorful rain boots + umbrellas) / Tulips / Pastels / Frogs / Kites / Blue skies / Climbing Trees / Tending a Garden / New Life / Rainbows / Baseball / Butterflies / Swings
And since we can never have too many ways to photograph our kiddos, I have put together a FREE checklist with inspiration for Spring, and all year long! With 104 ideas, you will be able to document your family’s big moments, and every little smile, snuggle, and silly expression in-between. Get it here >
Spring brings so much excitement for everyone in the family. Especially when we lived in a warm climate we could not wait to go outside and RUN! Try one of these ideas that resignation with you. It is OK to “plan” your photos with your kids. You are not going to ask them to sit perfectly still and pose (they are kids after all, and you want the AUTHENTIC expressions!).
But, you can control a few things:
1.) The Environment—go explore nature. Anywhere where they can run and be kids is perfect.
2.) What time of day you photograph them—I love the warm, golden light before sunset.
3.) What they wear—think of where you will be taking photos of them and coordinate or contrast + add some fun accessories.
