Hey mama, Do you find yourself confused when going to print out your photos—wondering why they are cropped to a different size when printing, than they look on your phone or camera? It is because cameras and devices take photos in different size ratios, many which are different than standard print sizes.
Most smartphones have a 3:4 aspect ratio, which does not match any common print sizes. This mean you need to crop your image to fit a standard size when printing. Bottom line, if your camera/device takes photos in one ratio and you are trying to print a size in a different ratio, your photo will be cropped! To see how much, check out the Photo Print Sizes and Crop Ratio guide I put together, below. There are 4 common print size ratios (heck, an 11×14 print doesn’t even fall into one of these, just to confuse things more!).

Happy printing! And a big high-five for actually getting those photos off your device and into your hands. Feels great, doesn’t it?!
